Core Responsibilities

  • Operate with industrial IoT equipment installed on machinery like press machines and stamping lines to collect and interpret sensor signals and production data.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to machine data inconsistencies and communication problems.
  • Ensure stable and reliable transmission of machine data to cloud platforms.
  • Develop and adapt embedded firmware for microcontrollers including Raspberry Pi Pico and Pico W using MicroPython or Python programming.
  • Utilize GPIO, UART interfaces, sensors, relays, and digital IO for embedded system management and implement device-level logic such as debouncing, buffering, and retry mechanisms.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and firmware faults using tools like serial terminals and multimeters.
  • Work with MQTT protocol, JSON data formatting, and AWS IoT services to establish secure and dependable device-to-cloud connections, managing network interruptions effectively.
  • Assist in designing and prototyping industrial IoT gateway devices with various electronic components and ensure proper interfacing of industrial signals.
  • Configure and debug network connectivity over Wi-Fi and LAN, including understanding IP networking fundamentals to support communication between IoT devices and cloud servers.
  • Participate in installation, calibration, testing, and on-site troubleshooting at client manufacturing locations.
  • Keep accurate documentation of wiring diagrams, firmware versions, device configurations, and deployment logs.

Illustrative Projects

  • Monitoring production and strokes on industrial press machines with 24V signal interfacing and cloud communication.
  • Developing assembly line IoT systems incorporating sensor counting, barcode scanner integration, event monitoring, relay-based machine interlocking, and status indication with buzzers and LEDs.
  • Implementing industrial barcode scanning solutions with UART and JSON handling for operator feedback and cloud data transmission.
  • Network setup and troubleshooting for AWS IoT connectivity and Wi-Fi configurations during device deployment.

Candidate Profile and Eligibility

The internship welcomes freshers or recent graduates holding degrees in Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related fields. Applicants must be available full-time onsite in Gurugram, able to start between October 1, 2026, and November 5, 2026, and commit to a six-month tenure.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Fundamental understanding of microcontrollers (ESP32, Arduino, Raspberry Pi Pico variants) and programming languages such as C, Python, or MicroPython.
  • Basic experience with GPIO, UART, I2C/SPI interfaces, sensors, and embedded system concepts.
  • Elementary knowledge of IoT communication protocols like MQTT and JSON data formats.
  • Interest in electronics, embedded systems, and troubleshooting hardware and firmware issues.
  • Willingness to travel to factory/client sites within the Gurugram area.
  • Exposure to PLC basics and Linux command line skills are advantageous but not mandatory.
