Material Depot, a fast-growing Bengaluru-based startup supported by Y-Combinator and global investors, is seeking a creative and meticulous Interior Design Intern for a 3-month hands-on internship. This opportunity will immerse the intern in developing practical and aesthetically pleasing retail and interior environments, focusing on store design, furniture placement, facade concepts, and visual merchandising for interior materials.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design furniture layouts and execute space planning drawings.
- Contribute to store layouts and produce detailed store drawings.
- Create facade design drawings and conceptualize design ideas.
- Assist in designing store displays and visual merchandising layouts.
- Prepare presentation materials including drawings, plans, elevations, and documentation.
- Collaborate with the design team on current store and display projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Google SketchUp software.
- Fundamental knowledge of interior design principles, furniture layout, and spatial planning.
- Keen sense of materials, proportionality, color schemes, and retail display aesthetics.
- Detail-oriented with eagerness to learn and adapt within a dynamic design environment.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must be available for a full-time, in-office internship in Bengaluru.
- Internship start date between October 1, 2026, and November 5, 2026.
- Commitment for the full 3-month duration is required.
- Relevant skills and genuine interest in interior design are essential.
