About the internship
About the Internship
This internship offers the opportunity to develop the hardware components for a music company, including a Raspberry Pi 5 stage keyboard rig, a custom-built audio interface, and a vocal harmoniser device. These are physical systems actively used on live performances.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Raspberry Pi 5 rig: install, backup, maintain operation, and perform safe system updates.
- Configure the stage keyboard system on the Pi, integrating layered sounds, splits, effects, setlists, and iPad control using Pianoteq and other sound engines.
- Construct and evaluate a Pi-based multichannel audio interface incorporating audio boards and USB audio/MIDI.
- Adapt a six-voice vocal harmoniser written in C++ for the Pi, replacing camera gesture controls with sensors or embedded machine learning.
- Assess system latency and CPU load, conduct extended stability tests to ensure reliability in live environments.
- Collaborate with AI coding tools (such as Claude and Codex) by reviewing and refining generated code.
Candidate Requirements
- Enrollment in or graduation from Electronics Engineering or related fields (BE/BTech, ME/MTech, MCA, MSc in Computer Science, Electronics, or AI/ML).
- Proficiency with Linux on Raspberry Pi, including systemd, networking, and SSH.
- Competence in C/C++ and Python programming, basic understanding of audio or MIDI technologies.
- Desirable skills include experience with machine learning on edge devices, digital signal processing, JUCE framework, and ESP32/Home Assistant platforms.
- Musical aptitude, either through playing an instrument or having a keen auditory perception especially related to latency and sound quality.
Work Conditions
The internship is based in Bangalore, India, with on-site working hours from Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The team is goal-oriented, working six days a week.
Applicants must be available full-time and willing to commit for a period of three months starting between 28th September and 2nd November 2026. Flexibility with a reduced number of days will proportionally affect work and stipend.
