About the Internship
This internship involves crafting and executing SQL queries to extract necessary data from databases. You will be responsible for cleaning, validating, and transforming data prior to analysis and report generation. Developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports aligned with business needs will be key, including creating and adjusting DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs.
The role requires analyzing data to discover trends, patterns, anomalies, and inconsistencies, as well as verifying report data accuracy against database records. You will troubleshoot issues in SQL queries, data, and Power BI reports, update dashboards as per feedback and evolving requirements, and work extensively with SQL concepts such as tables, joins, views, aggregations, and subqueries.
In Power BI, responsibilities include building and managing data models and relationships, applying filters, slicers, drill-downs, and visuals, monitoring data refresh processes, and addressing refresh failures. Documenting SQL scripts, report logic, data sources, calculations, and any modifications is expected. Understanding assigned business requirements before initiating development work, participating actively in daily stand-ups, and providing clear progress updates are part of the job.
You will thoroughly test reports and dashboards before submission, incorporate improvements based on senior feedback, organize versions of all reports and queries, adhere to company policies on data security, confidentiality, and access control, and complete tasks within stipulated deadlines while proactively communicating any delays or obstacles. Continuous learning in SQL, Power BI, DAX, data modelling, and analytics through project work is encouraged.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be available for a remote internship.
- Internship start date must be between September 9, 2026, and October 14, 2026.
- Must commit to a full 6-month internship period.
- Possession of relevant skills and genuine interest is required.
Additional Requirements
- Basic knowledge of data visualization and business intelligence principles.
- Competence in Microsoft Excel, SQL, or other database systems.
- Experience or exposure to Power BI or comparable BI tools like Tableau is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and teamwork capabilities.
- Motivation to learn and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Currently enrolled in a Computer Science and Data Analytics degree program.
Stipend and Perks
The internship offers a monthly stipend of INR 6000. The work schedule is 5 days a week and successful interns will receive a letter of recommendation upon completion.
