Internship Overview
Swift Robotics invites interns to remotely contribute to advancing YOLO-based anomaly and defect detection systems. This part-time role involves enhancing detection pipelines, curating datasets, training models, optimizing edge deployments, and collaborating closely with senior engineers within a vibrant technology-focused team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain YOLO models ranging from versions 8 to 11 for defect identification.
- Assist with dataset compilation and quality assurance for labels, alongside data augmentation methods to elevate model accuracy.
- Conduct training, refinement, and evaluation of detection algorithms based on production-level metrics such as precision, recall, false positives, and inference latency.
- Transform and optimize models for edge device usage, converting frameworks from PyTorch to ONNX and TensorRT to deploy on NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX hardware.
- Analyze, profile, and troubleshoot on-device inference performance concerning latency, memory use, and power consumption while recommending performance enhancements.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers to integrate updated models into deployment workflows, incorporating version control, testing, and rollout strategies.
- Write well-structured, test-driven Python code and maintain thorough documentation of experiments and pipeline modifications.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be able to work from home and be available to commence between August 14 and September 18, 2026.
- Commitment to a six-month internship duration is required.
- Must possess or be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related engineering disciplines.
- Demonstrated relevant skills and strong interest in computer vision and machine learning fields.
Required Skills and Experience
- Hands-on experience with YOLO or similar object detection frameworks from academic projects or internships.
- Proficiency in Python programming and the PyTorch library.
- Comfortable using Linux command-line environments.
- Preferred experience in NVIDIA Jetson platforms (Orin, Xavier, Nano), TensorRT, ONNX, CUDA, or model compression techniques such as quantization and pruning.
- Additional assets include familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, or contributions to open-source computer vision or machine learning projects.
