Internship Overview
This internship is a distinctive opportunity for those passionate about art direction with a focus on props and production rather than conventional graphic design. The role involves deep engagement in the hands-on process of creating, sourcing, and managing props and set elements essential for content production. Candidates will collaborate closely with the Props and Production teams to design and realize tangible creative concepts.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Props and Production teams to brainstorm and develop innovative prop ideas.
- Create conceptual designs for props aligned with scripts, creative briefs, and themed production needs.
- Experiment with varied materials, textures, colors, and fabrication methods to manifest creative ideas physically.
- Assist in building, painting, assembling, and finalizing props.
- Conduct research and source appropriate materials for prop creation.
- Engage with local vendors, fabricators, craftsmen, rental suppliers, and markets to procure necessary items.
- Understand budget and timeline constraints while determining what can be made, sourced, modified, rented, or reused.
- Develop mood boards, visual references, sketches, and conceptual prop designs.
- Participate actively during production to help set up, adjust, and troubleshoot props on set.
- Find innovative alternatives when original materials or props are unavailable.
- Maintain detailed records of materials, vendors, and prop sources.
- Collaborate with creative and production teams to ensure visual outputs meet intended concepts.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
- Strong artistic ability and visualization skills with a creative mindset.
- Active engagement in creative practices such as painting, sculpting, DIY crafting, model making, set or production design, illustration, photography, fashion, theatre, or filmmaking.
- Passion for hands-on creation, experimentation, and material exploration.
- Resourcefulness in finding practical and creative solutions using available resources.
- Curiosity about fabrication, construction techniques, and how physical objects are made.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced production environment.
- Preference for candidates based in Bangalore due to the on-site nature of the role.
- Existing contacts with vendors, craftsmen, or rental suppliers are advantageous.
- Students or graduates from Fine Arts, Design, Theatre, Film/Production Design, Visual Arts, Fashion, Architecture, or related disciplines are encouraged to apply.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be able to commit full-time to an in-office internship and start between September 1 and October 6, 2026. They should be available for the entire six-month duration and possess relevant skills and interests aligned with this role.
