WinTraction audits companies' presence on these platforms, highlights competitors' strengths, and executes continuous initiatives to increase brand mention rates and share of voice.
Role Overview
The AI Visibility Technical Specialist will be responsible for applying technical and website modifications to optimize how AI technologies detect, retrieve, and showcase a client's brand. Following technical briefs from the internal AI Visibility team, the intern will independently carry out necessary updates on websites, codebases, CMS platforms, hosting setups, as well as handle technical SEO and AEO systems.
This role is highly practical, requiring the ability to analyze unfamiliar codebases, comprehend website functionalities, implement changes, test thoroughly, and document all alterations precisely.
Responsibilities
- Directly implement changes on websites and codebases when granted access.
- Engage hands-on with existing systems rather than solely providing theoretical recommendations.
- Inspect, modify, debug, test, and validate implementations involving HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React/Next.js, PHP, WordPress, and other CMS platforms.
- Correct and implement JSON-LD and structured data schemas including organization, local business, service, and product types.
- Enhance website architecture, entity signals, clarity of information, and machine-readable content.
- Resolve technical SEO/AEO issues related to robots.txt, XML sitemaps, canonical tags, metadata, internal linking structure, and other relevant retrieval components.
- Perform landing page and on-site modifications in alignment with approved technical and content briefs.
- Work with GitHub for repository management including branches, commits, pull requests, and development workflows.
- Handle website administration tasks via cPanel, file managers, and hosting environments.
- Test updates on staging or development servers and verify deployment on production.
- Identify technical limitations, implementation issues, access restrictions, deployment risks, or dependencies and communicate them clearly to the internal team.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all changes made, including locations and testing methodologies.

Required Skills and Experience
- 1–2 years of practical experience in software/web development, technical SEO, or a similar technical field.
- Proficiency in web development and debugging.
- Comfortable working directly with codebases versus only visual tools or dashboards.
- Hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React/Next.js, PHP, WordPress, Git/GitHub, and hosting environments.
- Solid understanding of JSON-LD, structured data, robots.txt, XML sitemaps, and technical SEO/AEO practices.
- Able to interpret technical briefs and apply them successfully to existing websites.
- Detail-oriented to safely handle live or staging sites without disrupting existing functions.
- Capacity to rigorously test changes before completion acknowledgment.
- Strong written communication skills for clear and precise documentation.
- Experience using AI tools to support research, debugging, coding, and implementation, with all outcomes reviewed before deployment.
- Ability to work independently without direct interaction with clients.
