Project Manager - Software Implementation (Hybrid Work Model)

About the Role

Join Quorum Software in Abu Dhabi as a Project Manager based in a hybrid work setting. This role involves managing significant enterprise-level software implementations in the oil and gas sector, focusing on upstream production operations. You'll be part of a fast-paced, international environment, contributing to digital transformation in energy through leadership of project teams in the Middle East.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee large, complex technology projects from planning through execution and closure.
• Manage project lifecycle including scope, cost estimation, scheduling, resource allocation, solution design, quality control, training, and delivery.
• Conduct status meetings, prepare progress updates, and monitor risk and issues, adjusting plans to ensure on-time delivery.
• Coordinate multiple agile teams, integrating with other business units and enforcing best practices across projects.
• Implement strategies and tools to enhance team efficiency and meet project goals within constraints.
• Combine traditional project management with agile methodologies tailored to the project's complexity and criticality.
• Coach project teams, removing obstacles, fostering accountability, and encouraging high-quality, sustainable productivity.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and establish effective project governance systems.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize agile project management processes.

Candidate Requirements

• University degree preferred in engineering or business-related fields.
• At least three years managing software or web development projects utilizing Agile methods.
• Experience guiding cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and QA specialists.
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycles and the ability to blend agile and traditional project management practices effectively.
• Background in budgeting, program management, and change management methodologies.
• Knowledge of conceptual modeling, data requirements, and business process management.
• Technical skills including complex problem solving, programming languages such as SQL, C++, C#, Java, VB, and familiarity with system architectures.
• Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or equivalent advanced management training is advantageous.
• Experience in oil and gas industry projects, especially relating to upstream asset lifecycle.
• Certification in Scrum, Agile practices (PMI-ACP, CSM), or project management credentials such as PMP, PgMP, or Prince2.

Additional Information

• International travel required up to 30-50%; valid passport needed.
• Employment eligibility in the UAE is preferred; visa sponsorship may be considered for exceptional candidates willing to relocate.
