Job Overview
CoreCivic is looking for a Maintenance Worker committed to upholding high standards of professionalism and public service within a secure institutional setting. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing various facility building structures and systems, including plumbing, electrical components, machinery, equipment, electronics, vehicles, and grounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair the facility's physical structures ensuring operations remain safe and secure.
- Inspect, diagnose, and fix machinery and equipment issues.
- Install or repair electrical apparatus including wiring and electronic machine components.
- Carry out preventative maintenance tasks as defined by the maintenance schedule.
- Supervise and monitor inmates or residents assigned to the Maintenance Department accurately.
Qualifications
- Possession of a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in general maintenance or construction work.
- Technical or trade school coursework in maintenance or construction may substitute experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Preferred understanding of building construction and systems operation.
- You must hold a valid driver's license.
- Candidate must be at least 21 years old.
