Data Insights Analyst (Entry / Junior)

About the Role

We are actively searching for a Data Insights Analyst at an entry to junior level to become part of our expanding team in Sydney. This position is well-suited for recent graduates or early-career professionals eager to delve into data analysis, business intelligence, and turning intricate data into valuable insights that inform business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, clean, structure, and analyze data from various sources.
• Detect trends, patterns, opportunities, and risks through thorough data analysis.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and visual data representations for internal teams.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor business metrics.
• Analyze data related to customers, markets, sales, finance, and operations.
• Verify data integrity, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
• Translate insights gained into straightforward, actionable business advice.
• Provide data-driven support to management and cross-functional teams.
• Assist in creating and sustaining dashboards, reports, and analytical models.
• Conduct ad-hoc analyses and research as needed.
• Collaborate with departments such as Finance, Marketing, Sales, Operations, IT, and Management.
• Document data sources, reports, and analytical methodologies.
• Identify areas to enhance data quality, accelerate reporting, and streamline analytic processes.

Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, or a related discipline preferred.
• Foundational understanding of data analysis, statistical methods, and business intelligence.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
• Basic to intermediate SQL skills are desirable.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker Studio is beneficial.
• Basic knowledge of programming languages like Python or R is a plus.
• Strong analytical thinking with excellent problem-solving ability.
• High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Effective communication skills to explain complex findings to various audiences.
