Internship Overview
This six-month, in-office internship in Bangalore is designed for a Mechanical Engineering student or a candidate with a strong fit for chassis-focused vehicle engineering work. The role involves hands-on support in chassis development, platform engineering, simulation, validation, and cross-functional coordination for electric vehicle programs.
What You’ll Do
You will contribute to the development of chassis components and systems, including structural frame elements, suspension mounting locations, and load-bearing parts. The internship also covers Cell-to-Chassis and skateboard platform work, CAD creation, simulation, testing support, material study, documentation, prototyping, and vehicle certification coordination.
- Help design and develop chassis parts and systems such as frame structures, suspension interfaces, and structural load-carrying members.
- Support Cell-to-Chassis (C2C) and skateboard platform development initiatives.
- Build CAD models and run simulations using tools such as CATIA, SolidWorks, or Siemens NX (UG NX).
- Assist in evaluating chassis designs against safety and performance standards.
- Support material choice and analysis with an eye on weight reduction, durability, and cost.
- Prepare and update design records, CAD drawings, technical write-ups, and engineering specifications.
- Carry out Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and related simulations to assess structural behavior under different load cases.
- Support prototype build-up and physical testing of chassis components and systems.
- Work with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams to integrate chassis systems with other vehicle subsystems.
- Join ideation and problem-solving discussions to improve chassis concepts.
- Spot opportunities to improve designs, lower cost, and reduce weight.
- Coordinate with testing and certification bodies such as ICAT and ARAI for certification-related work.
Who Can Apply
This opportunity is open to applicants who can commit to a full-time, in-office internship, can begin between 7 July 2026 and 11 August 2026, and can stay for the full 6-month duration. Candidates should have relevant interest and skills, and the posting specifically mentions Mechanical Engineering students. The preferred academic background also includes BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or Automobile Engineering.
Other Requirements
- 0–2 years of experience in chassis or mechanical design is preferred.
- Sound understanding of mechanical fundamentals such as stress analysis, materials science, and structural dynamics.
- Hands-on capability with CAD tools like SolidWorks, CATIA, or Siemens NX (UG NX), plus basic familiarity with FEA software.
- Knowledge of automotive systems and chassis architecture.
- Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, and problem-solving skills.
- Careful attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
- Ability to work smoothly with Design, Development, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Sound technical judgment and decision-making skills.
- Comfortable working independently as well as in a team setting.
- Experience in SAE BAJA will be considered an advantage.
Compensation and Perks
The internship offers a stipend of INR 15,000 to 20,000 per month. Additional benefits include a certificate, a letter of recommendation, and an informal dress code.
Additional Information
The role has 2 openings and is scheduled to start immediately. The application deadline is 6 August 2026 at 11:59 PM.
