Role Overview
The VoidZero team develops open-source developer tools shaping the modern web, including projects like Vite and Vitest. The engineer will enhance this toolset to boost developer productivity, working on feature design, user experience, and collaborating within the open-source community to encourage adoption and onboarding.
Responsibilities
- Create and release new features that enhance developer tools
- Collaborate with the open-source ecosystem to promote tool adoption and ease of onboarding
- Boost tool performance, reliability, and user experience
Candidate Profile
- Proficient in JavaScript and TypeScript programming
- Strong enthusiasm for open-source and developer communities
- Experience in framework development, tooling, or product infrastructure
- Deep product intuition with focus on developer experience
- Skilled in diagnosing complex, unclear issues based on tangible data
- Comfortable working remotely across different time zones
- Excellent written communication skills and ownership mindset
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Rust considered a significant advantage
- Experience managing open-source projects
- Familiarity with compilers, bundlers, test runners, caching systems
- Prior use or knowledge of tools like Vite, Vitest, Rolldown, Oxc, and Vite+
