Job description
Overview of Your Role
As the EHS Lead for Grid Technologies Service in Saudi Arabia, you will guide your EHS team through tasks such as incident investigations, site audits for modernization projects, and conducting toolbox talks that foster genuine safety engagement among field service personnel. Your decisions will safeguard employees and contractors working on vital energy infrastructure, build trust with clients adhering to Siemens Energy's stringent safety criteria, and promote the company's Zero Harm culture aligned with its energy transition mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and steer the EHS strategy for GT Service Saudi Arabia by establishing goals, targets, and performance metrics while continuously enhancing operational safety.
- Oversee EHS implementation across nationwide projects and field services, including managing high-risk tasks like electrical operations, high voltage switching, lifting, confined space entries, and work performed at heights.
- Maintain safety and compliance in all office, workshop, and warehouse environments, managing emergency readiness, fire safety, and occupational health initiatives.
- Promote a proactive Zero Harm safety culture by coaching leadership and frontline teams, facilitating safety campaigns and behavioral safety programs, and integrating EHS practices into everyday workflows.
- Create and administer EHS education and competency development programs, guaranteeing all employees and contractors hold necessary certifications and skills.
- Lead efforts on risk assessments, root cause analyses for incidents, and manage a team of three EHS professionals; additionally, report on safety performance metrics and conduct audits and regulatory inspections.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- Preferred certifications include NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or CSP qualifications.
- Between 8 to 10 years of progressive EHS experience in settings like industrial, energy, utilities, construction, or service sectors, with hands-on involvement in high-risk field operations.
- Proven leadership experience directing EHS teams and managing safety performance across multiple simultaneous sites.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Saudi Arabian EHS regulations aligned with global best practices and standards.
- Experience in transmission systems, substations, GIS, transformers, power generation, or similar technical/industrial environments is highly desirable.
