Job Overview and Duties
- Deliver exceptional and attentive service to guests, creating a warm and professional dining atmosphere.
- Welcome and seat guests courteously, provide assistance with menus, and share detailed knowledge about available food and beverages.
- Accurately record and process food and beverage orders while ensuring all guest preferences are clearly conveyed.
- Serve dishes and drinks promptly and professionally, adhering to hotel service standards.
- Maintain in-depth understanding of the menu, including ingredients, preparation styles, allergen information, and daily specials.
- Work to ensure each guest enjoys a personalized and positive dining experience.
- Address guest questions, requests, and complaints with professionalism, escalating when necessary.
- Collaborate closely with kitchen, bar, hostess, and management teams to facilitate smooth operations.
- Monitor guest satisfaction during meals and respond proactively to any additional needs.
- Keep the dining area clean, organized, and visually appealing throughout service.
- Handle multitasking efficiently, especially during busy periods.
- Strictly follow all health, safety, hygiene, and food safety regulations.
- Maintain a polished appearance and positive, friendly attitude when interacting with guests and coworkers.
- Support sales initiatives by recommending food, beverages, promotions, and specials to enhance guest experience and increase revenue.
- Carry out opening and closing responsibilities, including table setup, side-station preparation, clearing, and maintaining service quality.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience as a waiter or waitress within a 4- or 5-star hotel, upscale restaurant, or reputable hospitality setting.
- Diploma or certificate in hospitality, hotel management, or related field preferred.
- Strong customer service aptitude with excellent guest interaction capabilities.
- Solid understanding of food and beverage service standards and proper dining etiquette.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, confident engaging with guests.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages, particularly Arabic, is advantageous.
- Capability to perform well under high-volume, fast-paced work environments.
- Excellent teamwork skills, working seamlessly with kitchen, bar, food and beverage, and management units.
- Well-versed in menu compositions, ingredients, allergens, and food safety procedures.
- Ability to professionally manage guest inquiries, feedback, and concerns.
- Keen attention to detail in handling orders to ensure accuracy.
- Comprehensive knowledge of health, hygiene, and food safety regulations.
- Professionally groomed, confident, and friendly demeanor.
- Flexible availability for shifts including weekends, holidays, and extended hours as necessitated by business demands.
- Positive, proactive mindset and a strong commitment to delivering outstanding guest service.
