Overview
Advance Auto Parts is seeking a dedicated Store Driver to pick, stage, and safely deliver automotive parts to professional customers while providing excellent service and building strong relationships. The role involves handling returns, promoting sales, maintaining store organization, and supporting overall sales efforts through upselling and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick, prepare, and deliver parts securely to professional customers.
- Collect returns and core parts as required.
- Distribute weekly and monthly sales flyers while promoting ongoing sales and loyalty programs.
- Manage daily collection of credit accounts.
- Build and nurture relationships with local and national professional customers, sharing market insights gained during deliveries.
- Support upselling and cross-selling initiatives to raise average transaction values.
- Maintain cleanliness of the store, including floors, bathrooms, displays, dusting, and the parking lot area.
- Assist with general stocking duties such as truck stocking, back stock management, and cycle counts.
- Stay informed about product inventory and new items to support sales conversations.
- Engage walk-in customers to assess their needs and recommend suitable parts or services.
- Perform other assigned duties to support store operations.

- Proficiency in using the delivery board system.
- Friendly, persuasive communication style that builds rapport with customers and coworkers.
- Ability to find, stock, and organize parts efficiently.

- Capability to identify customer needs and propose solutions accordingly.
Essential Qualifications
- Fluency in English for verbal and written communication; Spanish language skills an asset.
- Reading comprehension skills to understand safety rules, maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedural manuals.
- Basic arithmetic skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, and weekends when necessary.
- Confidence engaging with customers and promoting product offerings.
- Willingness to learn about new products and sales techniques.
- Preferred automotive parts experience adds value.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record mandatory.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
This position requires frequent walking or standing and the ability to communicate effectively. The employee must be capable of hand and finger dexterity, reaching, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. The job demands the ability to lift and move weights up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally with assistance.
The work occurs mostly indoors, though occasional outdoor activities expose the employee to varying weather conditions. Exposure risks include moving machinery, heights, hazardous chemicals, electrical risks, explosives, vibration, and moderate noise levels.
