Senior Test Engineer

About the Role

A partner company based in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer with a strong background in Agile and Scrum environments. This role centers on ensuring the quality, dependability, and performance of software applications through comprehensive testing and collaborative efforts across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct integration, regression, and functional testing to verify that software meets business and technical requirements.
• Develop, revise, and execute detailed test cases for both new and updated systems.
• Translate business and technical requirements into structured testing scenarios and quality benchmarks.
• Document, track, and manage identification and resolution of defects, ensuring thorough validation and follow-up.
• Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders and agile Scrum teams throughout development cycles.
• Maintain consistent testing standards across multiple projects and complex assignments.
• Implement software engineering best practices, change control procedures, and testing protocols throughout the development life cycle.
• Participate in peer reviews to uphold engineering and quality standards.
• Propose enhancements to the testing process to improve coverage, efficiency, and product quality.
• Identify opportunities to introduce test automation aligned with Test Driven Development methodologies where applicable.
• Demonstrate adaptability by working independently amid evolving technologies and methodologies.
• Utilize analytical skills to troubleshoot issues, reconcile test outcomes, and determine root causes.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years experience working in Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• In-depth knowledge of the complete software testing lifecycle, including test case creation, execution, defect tracking, and validation.
• Proven expertise in functional, integration, and regression testing procedures.
• Excellent analytical thinking, quantitative reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and dedication to maintaining high quality standards.
• Experience with automated change management and adherence to change-control standards.
• High proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
• Ability to comprehend complex functional and technical specifications to develop test strategies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of collaborating with diverse scrum and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to take ownership of tasks, multitask efficiently, and work autonomously on complex testing assignments.
• Flexible and eager to learn new testing tools, technologies, and methodologies.
• Preferred: Over 3 years of experience with test automation tools and implementing Test Driven Development approaches.
