Fenix Resources Ltd (ASX: FEX) operates a fully integrated mining, logistics, and port services business in Western Australia's Mid-West region. With an annual production of over 4 million tonnes of iron ore and ambitions to reach 10 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), the company is focused on building a sustainable, long-term operation. Fenix is expanding its Weld Range operations following the discovery of a 290Mt high-grade iron ore resource, poised to increase mining and logistics activities backed by robust global partnerships and a fully integrated mine-to-port infrastructure.
Job Overview
Located at Geraldton Port, this full-time permanent role operates on a 5:2 or 4:3 roster. The Maintenance Coordinator works under the Mechanical and Electrical Supervisors to provide crucial coordination and administrative assistance ensuring effective scheduling, planning and readiness for maintenance operations.
Note: Candidates must be residents of Geraldton, as this is a residential-based position.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver ongoing coordination and administrative support to Mechanical and Electrical Supervisors.
- Manage daily scheduling of maintenance activities for Mechanical and Electrical teams to guarantee readiness for execution.
- Serve as the communication bridge between site operations and the Perth-based Planning Team to maintain alignment on maintenance priorities.
- Organize labor, equipment, contractors, materials, and specialized services for maintenance and shutdown tasks.
- Verify all necessary permits, plant access, resources, and materials are in place for maintenance activities prior to commencement.
- Update maintenance schedules, work orders, and planning data within the MEX maintenance management system.
- Track maintenance preparedness, relay schedule adjustments, and address scheduling conflicts proactively.
- Arrange contractor induction, mobilization, and site access.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts aimed at refining maintenance planning, scheduling, and operational efficiency.
- Escalate any technical, safety, or scope-related concerns to the relevant Supervisors.
Requirements
- Proven track record in coordinating maintenance within mining, ports, fixed plant, or heavy industrial settings.
- Strong skills in planning, scheduling, and organizing multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities to facilitate collaboration across diverse teams.
- Familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (preferably MEX) and maintenance planning methodologies.
- Understanding of fixed plant maintenance operations.
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence is mandatory.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Mechanical or Electrical Trade Certification or equivalent sector experience.
- Experience in maintenance scheduling and project coordination.
- Formal leadership training such as Frontline Leadership qualifications.
Additional Information
The role involves dedicated support and coordination without supervisory responsibilities. Leadership, technical decisions, adherence to engineering standards, and compliance remain under the Supervisors' responsibility. The successful candidate should demonstrate a proactive attitude, prioritizing safety, teamwork and continuous improvement within a fast-paced environment.
Compensation
The remuneration package includes a salary of $159,650 annually plus superannuation and a 10% performance bonus.
