Role Overview

As the Engineering Manager based in Riyadh, you will oversee the engineering team's day-to-day operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software aligned with our technical roadmap. This includes managing relationships with technology vendors, translating technical priorities into clear sprint plans, and maintaining rigorous quality standards through code reviews, QA, and documentation. You will identify and mitigate risks early, contribute to building a permanent engineering team by defining roles and supporting recruitment, and serve as the key liaison for stakeholders regarding project progress and challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily execution of engineering activities to meet scope, deadlines, and quality benchmarks.
• Manage and hold accountable technology vendor partnerships, ensuring prompt issue resolution.
• Convert the technical roadmap into actionable sprint plans and delivery milestones.
• Implement and maintain processes for code review, quality assurance, and documentation consistency.
• Proactively identify delivery and technical risks and drive timely resolutions.
• Support the growth of Marid's engineering team by defining roles and driving the hiring strategy.
• Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders on project status, blockers, and upcoming releases.

Candidate Profile

You should have a strong sense of ownership toward delivering working software, with experience leading teams and managing vendor relationships effectively. A technical background enabling critical review of code and outputs is essential, as is comfort communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications

• Saudi national.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or closely related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years in professional software engineering, including at least 2 years in engineering leadership or vendor management roles.
• Solid engineering fundamentals with critical code review capabilities.
• Experience managing outsourced or contract engineering teams.
• Proven ability to translate business and technical priorities into delivery plans and ensure team accountability.
• Excellent communication skills across diverse stakeholder groups.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in fintech, open banking, or financial technology sectors.
• Familiarity with SAMA’s Open Banking Framework or similar regulatory standards.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and modern DevOps methodologies.
• Fluency in Arabic and English languages.
