Role Overview

Working as a Customer Delivery Driver at Tesco means being the friendly face customers see when their orders arrive at their doors. This job goes beyond just driving; it involves delivering excellent service with a positive attitude every day. The role is physically active and varies each shift, with independence on the road supported by a team back at the base.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your van, trays, and workspace to ensure customers receive their shopping in perfect condition.
• Load your vehicle safely and perform all necessary pre-delivery checks to confirm the van is safe, reliable, and ready for service.
• Communicate politely and clearly with customers about any order changes, substitutions, or short-dated products, offering refunds where appropriate to ensure a smooth experience.
• Handle all products carefully, treating each order as your own to preserve quality and maintain customer trust.
• Deliver orders punctually within the customer's allocated time slot, providing warm and genuine service at the doorstep to make customers feel valued.
• Foster strong team relationships and contribute positively to team spirit and overall service quality.

Candidate Requirements

• Have a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving licence (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months, with no more than three penalty points.
• Be warm, approachable, and customer-focused, maintaining a friendly attitude with customers and colleagues alike.
• Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to changing customer needs and workplace conditions both on the road and in store.

Benefits

• Starting pay is £14.18 per hour, increasing to £15.45 per hour within M25 stores; some locations may provide extra payments.
• Guaranteed minimum of 16 hours per week, with some roles available from 12 hours weekly.
