What is a freelancer?
A freelancer is a self-employed professional who works for several clients, one project at a time, instead of for a single employer. Freelancers choose the work they take on, set their own rates and decide when and where they work. A project might take a weekend or six months; when it ends, the freelancer moves on to the next client.
Freelance is the way of working: paid for an agreed piece of work rather than a monthly salary. Writers, developers, designers, marketers, translators, accountants and consultants all freelance, and so do students building experience and professionals earning beside their job.
For companies, a freelancer is the fastest way to get specialist work done without a long hiring process: a new website, a month of social media, a translation, an audit. You pay for the result you agreed, and you can work with the same person again whenever you need them.

Post a freelance job
Describe the project, the skills, your budget and where the freelancer can be. Our team checks it first.
Compare proposals

Hire and work together
Hiring opens a project chat with the freelancer. Agree the details and the payment directly.
Confirm and review
When the work is done, confirm it and leave an honest review. It helps the next company choose.
Built so reviews can be trusted
Fake reviews ruin freelance sites. These rules are on from day one.
Verified clients
Every company posting a freelance job has a verified email and phone number, and every job is checked by a person before it goes live.
Reviews only from real work
A review can only be written after a contract is finished and confirmed by both sides. No contract, no review.
Both reviews appear together
Reviews stay hidden until both sides have written theirs, or 14 days pass, so nobody can wait and retaliate.
Weighted, not just counted
A review from an established client who has hired many freelancers counts for more than one from a brand-new account.
The chat is the record
Every contract has its own project chat. If there is ever a disagreement, what was agreed there is what counts.
No commission, ever
Broxer does not hold your money or take a cut. You agree the price and how to pay directly with each other.
Questions people ask
What is a freelancer?
A freelancer is a self-employed professional who works for several clients on separate projects instead of for one employer. They choose their clients, set their own price and decide when and where they work. Each project usually lasts from a few days to a few months.
What does freelance mean?
Freelance describes work done project by project for clients, rather than as a salaried employee. A freelance writer, developer or designer is paid for the work agreed for each project, and is free to take on other clients at the same time.
Can I freelance while I have a job or while I study?
Yes. Many people start freelancing in the evenings or at weekends, beside a job or their studies. Check your employment contract for any rules about outside work, and only take on what you can deliver well.
How do I find freelance jobs online?
Create a freelance profile that shows your skills, rates and past work, then send short, specific proposals to projects that fit you. On Broxer, companies post freelance jobs that are checked by our team before they go live, and you can send a proposal with your price and timeline.
Does Broxer take a commission?
No. You agree the price and the payment directly with each other. Broxer does not hold money, charge a commission or take a cut of your earnings.
How do I know a client or a freelancer is real?
Every company that posts a freelance job has a verified email and phone number, and every job is checked by a person before it goes live. Reviews can only be left after a real contract is finished and confirmed by both sides, and both reviews stay hidden until both are written, so nobody can retaliate.
Who can post a freelance job?
Company accounts. A business creates a free employer account, verifies its email and phone, and posts the project. Freelancers apply with a candidate account and a freelance profile.
