Role Overview

Joining as a Software Development Engineer 1 (SDE-1) at Everyday Labs, you will be part of a key engineering effort focused on designing and deploying cutting-edge technical solutions to the company's critical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Engaging in Fintech domain learning and development.
• Developing and maintaining backend services, APIs, and functionalities using primarily Python, BigQuery, and SQL.
• Creating background tasks to ensure data synchronization and building internal dashboards utilized by the team to monitor operations.
• Delivering end-to-end solutions from development to testing, thorough code review, staging validation, and production deployment.
• Collaborating with both internal teams and external partners for system integrations.

Desired Skills and Qualities

• Excellent problem-solving aptitude, capable of decomposing complex and ambiguous problems into manageable steps rather than getting stuck.
• Ability to produce easily understandable code with meaningful names and clear structure.
• Writing resilient code by considering edge cases such as empty inputs, missing data, or repeated executions, not just ideal scenarios.
• Proficient with SQL, including joins, aggregations, indexing, and insight into query performance optimization.
• Skillful debugging, identifying root causes rather than making guesses.
• Sense of ownership - taking full responsibility for your work and driving it to completion.
• Thorough testing of your own code before marking tasks as complete.
• Ability to read and comprehend existing code to ensure new additions integrate seamlessly.
• Effective written communication in English, as most coordination is via written channels.
