Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (GCP)

Role Overview

We seek a seasoned Senior Cloud Platform Engineer with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to architect, develop, and maintain large-scale cloud environments. This position suits a proactive engineer passionate about infrastructure automation, cloud platform design, and DevOps practices, aiming to create secure, scalable, and automated cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and oversee expansive Google Cloud Platform infrastructures.
• Construct secure, scalable cloud environments (landing zones) utilizing Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
• Create and sustain modular Terraform components adhering to high engineering standards.
• Develop and refine CI/CD workflows to automate infrastructure and cloud platform tasks.
• Assist cloud migration efforts and application modernization strategies.
• Apply best practices in cloud networking, identity and access management (IAM), security, and governance.
• Deploy, configure, and support Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) clusters.
• Work closely with engineering units to deliver effective cloud-native solutions.
• Resolve intricate cloud platform challenges and provide expert technical advice.
• Generate and update comprehensive technical documentation.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or similar fields.
• At least seven years’ professional experience in Cloud Platform Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, or DevOps roles.
• Hands-on proficiency with Google Cloud Platform technologies.
• Advanced knowledge and practical expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise-level cloud landing zones.
• Strong background with Git-based CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Google Cloud Build.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes on GKE, cloud networking, IAM, and security principles.
• Demonstrated capability in cloud migration and application modernization endeavors.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, communication abilities, and experience managing stakeholders.

Preferred but Not Mandatory

• Knowledge of Google Cloud Fabric FAST or similar enterprise landing zone frameworks.
• Experience in cloud governance, monitoring, and logging solutions.
• Background working in extensive corporate environments.
• Google Cloud certifications (Associate Cloud Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect, Network Engineer, or Security Engineer).
