About the Role
Enjoy a rewarding career at Port Stephens Council, delivering library services directly to the community via our Mobile Library vehicle. This unique role combines driving a semi-articulated mobile library truck safely across 12 locations on a fortnightly schedule, with engaging customers through library services and programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Mobile Library truck (heavy combination vehicle) efficiently and safely.
- Provide excellent customer service to library patrons at multiple locations.
- Offer support using technology and ensure quality delivery of library programs.
- Manage daily tasks associated with running the Mobile Library on a rostered basis.
Essential Requirements
- Current Heavy Combination (HC) licence with proven safe and effective driving experience.
- Previous experience in a library setting or customer service environment.
- Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).
- Strong IT proficiency to support library technology use.
Working Conditions and Benefits
- Permanent full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday to Thursday plus alternate Saturday half-days (8:30am–12:30pm).
- Flexible working arrangements available.
- Starting between 8am and 9am with shifts ending between 5pm and 7pm.
- Competitive base salary between $70,332 - $77,597 per annum for 35 hours per week plus 12% superannuation and a $2,562 retention allowance.
- Work location is PSC Library, Raymond Terrace.
