Job description

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Coronial Case Manager to be based in Wellington, working closely with a resident coroner. You will coordinate all cases referred to the coroner in the Wellington office, occasionally assisting with matters beyond your region. This pivotal role allows you to apply your administrative skills along with exceptional people and relationship management capabilities to contribute to providing top-tier coronial services across New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and organize inquiry information and reports in both physical and electronic formats, presenting concise summaries to the coroner.
  • Manage extensive volumes of electronic case files while maintaining associated physical documentation.
  • Keep the electronic case management system (CMS) current, comprehensive, and accurate.
  • Engage and communicate effectively with stakeholders and government bodies, including interested parties and police.
  • Assist with monitoring and preparing reports on coroners’ court activities.
  • Coordinate arrangements and provide support for preliminary hearings or inquests conducted by the coroner.

Skills and Experience

  • Ability to remain calm and operate efficiently under stressful circumstances.
  • Comfortable handling exposure to graphic coronial materials.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Highly organized with strong prioritization and multitasking abilities.
  • Meticulous record keeping, demonstrated through accurate typing and data entry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Capable of working independently and following directions when required.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role is beneficial.

Compensation

The annual salary range for the role is between $67,066 and $85,567, commensurate with skills and experience.
