Cashier

Position Summary

The Cashier plays an essential role in delivering excellent customer service by ensuring transactions are processed quickly, accurately, and safely. Responsibilities include handling checkout and return operations, managing the self-checkout area, and providing product knowledge that helps inform customers and identify sales possibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct transactions at checkout lanes including sales and returns.
• Oversee and maintain the self-checkout stations to ensure smooth operations.
• Gain and apply knowledge about products and projects to assist customers effectively and promote additional sales.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures to reduce loss and prevent shrinkage.
• For Head Cashiers: assign positions to cashiers, expedite price verifications, and authorize point-of-sale transactions and markdowns across various service areas.
• Serve as first-level contact for resolving customer issues and support the training and development of other front-end team members.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with over one year of prior cashier experience are preferred for the Head Cashier position.
