Role Overview
The Assistant Store Manager plays a vital role in supporting the Store Manager by managing daily retail activities, ensuring customer satisfaction, and helping the store meet its sales objectives. This position serves as the acting Manager on Duty when the Store Manager is not present.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager with operational tasks and team management.
- Support merchandising efforts including stocking and unpacking deliveries.
- Deliver outstanding customer service and handle escalated concerns effectively.
- Lead employee training, coaching, and development initiatives.
- Manage cash handling and perform store opening and closing procedures as required.
- Delegate assignments to team members, ensuring a safe and clean store environment.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Maintain high standards of visual merchandising.
- Oversee hiring and manage staff performance.
Requirements
- Minimum two years of experience working in retail.
- At least two years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Flexible availability including days, evenings, and weekends.
- Strong leadership abilities paired with excellent communication and decision-making skills.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
