About the internship

Online Tyre Bazaar (OTB) is building a two-sided e-commerce platform that brings customers together with retailers who can offer the right products and solutions. The team is looking for a motivated software engineering intern who enjoys solving complex problems, writing dependable code, and using modern AI-assisted development tools to improve speed and quality.

This internship is suited for someone with solid programming fundamentals and practical coding experience. You should be comfortable working with Java or current front-end technologies, and willing to contribute across the full software development cycle.

Candidates who have used AI-enabled coding assistants and developer tools to boost productivity will have an added advantage.

Role overview

You will help design, build, test, and deploy scalable software products. The role includes front-end development for responsive web experiences as well as backend and API development where needed. You’ll also work closely with product, design, and engineering teammates to ship reliable features and improve the product continuously.

Key work areas

• Create, test, and release scalable software applications.
• Write code that is clean, efficient, maintainable, and aligned with best engineering practices.
• Develop responsive web interfaces using modern front-end frameworks when required.
• Build backend services and APIs using Java or other suitable technologies.

Who can apply

This opportunity is open to candidates who can work from home, are available to begin between 29 June 2026 and 3 August 2026, and can commit to the full 6-month duration. Applicants should have relevant skills and interest in software development, and the role specifically mentions Computer Science Engineering students.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree completed or in the final year in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong programming ability in Java or solid front-end development skills using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Prior internship or work experience in software engineering, product development, or another technical role is preferred.
• Experience building web applications, enterprise applications, or SaaS products is preferred.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is preferred.
• Comfort with Agile development practices is preferred.
• Practical experience using AI-based development tools such as OpenAI Codex, ChatGPT, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude, Gemini, Gravity, or similar tools is preferred.
• Ability to use AI tools for code generation, debugging, refactoring, test creation, documentation, review support, and rapid prototyping while verifying output for correctness, maintainability, and security.
• Candidates must use their own laptop and have a stable internet connection.

Additional information

This is a 6-month internship with real product development exposure in a startup environment. Interns who perform strongly in technical ability, ownership, problem-solving, collaboration, and alignment with company values may be considered for a full-time Software Engineer role in Bengaluru after the internship, subject to performance review and business needs.
