Join Amazon's Offers Experience team, which handles the models that determine the offers and related customer experiences around the 'Add to Cart' button visible billions of times daily across Amazon's platforms worldwide. This team applies machine learning to rank and select premier offers from trusted merchants, delivering superior front-end experiences for offer comparison to global customers. Their responsibilities include building scalable frameworks that empower many Amazon teams to innovate within the Offers Experience domain.

We seek a Software Development Manager in Bengaluru to lead impactful work influencing Amazon's customer buying journey. This role involves collaborating with diverse stakeholders across Amazon, guiding technical strategies, launching new features and businesses, using data to support customer-centric decisions, and communicating impacts to executives and teams. The role partners with engineers, product managers, applied scientists, and leadership to deliver measurable business results.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical direction and business strategy relating to the Amazon ‘Buy Box’, product detail pages, Amazon Search Pages, and other buying widgets on desktop, mobile, and tablet.
• Manage teams responsible for multi-tier systems and ML algorithms that select the featured offers shown to customers, ensuring optimum customer value based on price, availability, delivery, and service.
• Collaborate across technical and business teams to innovate on customer-facing functionalities in e-commerce’s most valuable real estate.
• Use data analytics to justify decisions and present financial and customer impact to relevant stakeholders.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop software engineers to enhance team skills and effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years managing engineering teams and 7+ years in software engineering roles.
• At least 8 years leading development and definition of multi-tier web services.
• Proficient understanding of software engineering best practices covering full lifecycle: coding standards, reviews, source control, builds, testing, certifications, and live operations support.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
• Strong background in designing scalable, reliable systems and applying design patterns.

Preferred Skills

• Excellent communication skills for engaging users, technical teams, and senior leadership across product features, technical designs, and strategy.
• Proven track-record recruiting, mentoring, and coaching software engineers to improve skills and product output.
