Jolt is an iOS application designed to empower users by helping them control their attention and manage screen time effectively. Video content plays a vital role in how users engage with Jolt, ranging from short-form videos to high-quality narrative content and marketing campaigns.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Video Editor who possesses advanced expertise and intuitive command of Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects. The ideal candidate will be a keyboard-driven expert, able to perform editing tasks with speed and precision without relying on menus or external resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit and produce a wide range of video content including Reels, Shorts, performance ads, social-first storytelling, UGC-driven ads, product and app UI videos, motion-heavy edits, narrative films, YouTube content, cinematic brand films, and campaign film projects.
• Manage projects from raw footage through to the final output, handling footage selection, story structuring, pacing, music integration, sound design, typography, motion graphics, compositing, color correction, finishing touches, revisions, and exports.
• Work swiftly and effectively, applying technical fluency to enhance editing quality and efficiency.

Required Expertise with Adobe Premiere Pro

• Mastery of keyboard-first editing workflows and custom shortcut mapping.
• Proficient in three-point editing, insert/overwrite workflows, ripple, roll, slip and slide edits.
• Familiarity with track targeting, source patching, match frame, and reverse match frame functions.
• Expertise with J/K/L navigation, add edit and trimming techniques, extend edits, pancake timelines, and multicam editing.
• Use of adjustment layers, masks, tracking, time remapping, speed ramps, proxies, and large project organization.
• Handling media relinking, offline/online workflows, frame-rate interpretation, mixed-format timelines, and audio editing including cleanup and Essential Sound panel usage.
• Application of Lumetri color grading tools, captions and subtitles, Essential Graphics and Motion Graphics template workflows, Dynamic Link integration.
• Tasks include render optimization, preview management, export settings, codec/compression knowledge, troubleshooting complex projects.

Required Expertise with Adobe After Effects

• Strong knowledge of After Effects keyboard shortcuts, timeline navigation, layer and property manipulation.
• Advanced skills in keyframe workflows, graph editors (speed and value), easing, animation curves, parenting, null objects, and pre-compositions.
• Experience with shape layers, trim paths, masks, track mattes, blending modes, text animators, typography animations.
• Motion and camera tracking, rotoscoping, keying, compositing including cleanup and object removal.
• Proficiency with motion blur, time remapping, expressions, adjustment layers, 2.5D environments, camera and light manipulation, alpha channel workflows.
• Rendering optimization and smooth workflows between Premiere Pro and After Effects.

Additional Skills And Tools

• Bonus: Familiarity with AI-assisted filmmaking techniques such as text-to-video or image-to-video generation, AI VFX assist, upscaling, and integrating AI assets into professional workflows.
• Bonus: Working knowledge of DaVinci Resolve particularly for color correction, grading, conform workflows, and finishing, though Adobe Premiere and After Effects are primary tools.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

• Approximately 2–4+ years of professional editing or post-production experience or equivalent demonstrated expertise.
• Proven ability to work efficiently using keyboard shortcuts and custom shortcuts in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
• Understanding of codecs, proxies, frame rates, resolutions, color management, media handling, and output exports.
• Strong editorial judgment including storytelling, pacing, rhythm, shot selection, musical integration, sound design, typography, visual hierarchy, motion, and compositing.
• Capability to independently create custom motion graphics rather than relying solely on templates.
• Ability to reverse-engineer reference edits and strategize production workflows.
• Organized project file management and commitment to both speed and quality.
