Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to take full ownership of the design experience for the Geotab Video Platform, including our AI dashcam and video intelligence software. This role involves leading design projects end-to-end across multi-disciplinary teams, creating complex, data-intensive user interfaces such as live video reviews, safety timelines, and fleet dashboards, as well as advocating for and evolving our design system.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional design initiatives, fostering collaboration and integrating design seamlessly throughout product development.
• Continuously enhance design processes, methodologies, and tools to improve effectiveness and user experience excellence.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and data analysis to inform user-centered design decisions and address user needs.
• Mentor junior designers, supporting their professional development and promoting knowledge sharing.
• Provide expert advice on user-centric design principles, ensuring alignment with industry standards and business goals.
• Gather and align design requirements in partnership with stakeholders to elevate the overall product experience.
• Stay current with design trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to keep skills and methods up to date.
• Effectively communicate design concepts, present solutions, and justify decisions with research and data to stakeholders.
• Work independently alongside developers and product managers to guarantee proper implementation and maintenance of design solutions.
• Champion and contribute to the growth of the design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across platforms.
• Participate in building a high-performing design team culture by contributing to hiring processes, design critiques, and identifying growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Between 5 and 8 years of professional product design experience, ideally with exposure to B2B, SaaS, telematics, video, or data-centric products.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating ownership of shipped software products with clear evidence of your contributions.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related disciplines preferred.
• Extensive expertise in product design, including UI design, prototyping, interaction design, responsive web applications, and proficiency with design tools like Figma.
• Exceptional UX judgment rooted in research, including user testing and behavior analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills capable of explaining complex ideas and advocating design decisions effectively at all organizational levels.
• A proactive self-starter who thrives under minimal supervision and fast-paced environments, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
