Java Developer - Remote

About the Role

This contract position for a Java Developer is fully remote and involves contributing to the advancement of next-generation AI systems by providing high-quality backend expertise. Prior AI experience is not required, as the focus is on your skills in Java and backend development.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, design, and support scalable backend systems utilizing Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and structure robust microservices architectures to fulfill complex application demands.
• Engage closely with the customer’s technical team to evaluate requirements and deliver high-standard code.
• Offer expert recommendations to enhance the performance, reliability, and security of applications.
• Participate in peer code reviews, delivering actionable and supportive feedback.
• Maintain clear and thorough documentation of technical methodologies and solutions.
• Identify, debug, and optimize backend functionality as necessary.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Java programming language.
• Practical experience with the Spring Boot framework for backend application development.
• Comprehensive understanding of microservices architecture and design concepts.
• Proven ability to produce clean, maintainable, and efficient source code.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Experience working remotely within dynamic, fast-paced teams.
• Solid familiarity with RESTful APIs, data structures, and backend development best practices.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge or experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
