Role Overview
The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in managing theatre operations, ensuring adherence to policies, operational standards, and providing comprehensive support across departments. This position includes training staff and can lead to advancement to Senior Assistant Manager and beyond after completing necessary accreditation and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow instructions and directives of the General Manager and support their communication with staff.
- Operate across all theatre departments, performing diverse job functions.
- Train and mentor team members on job roles and standards.
- Assist with administration and special reporting tasks for the General Manager.
- Inspect theatre facilities, including building, parking, signage, and equipment; report maintenance needs promptly.
- Ensure employees comply with the dress code and maintain superior customer service standards.
- Uphold and enforce Cinemark's policies fairly and consistently among staff.
- Report employee relations issues according to company protocol, and adhere to a high code of ethics and conduct.
- Maintain hygiene by regularly sanitizing high-contact areas and correctly using personal protective equipment.
- Address safety and security concerns proactively and perform additional related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- Preferred: High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of three foundational management courses within Cinemark's Management Accreditation Program.
- Food handling training and certifications where applicable, including safe alcohol service training if working with alcoholic beverages.
- Availability for flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Consistent and reliable attendance.
- Energetic, friendly attitude with exceptional customer service skills.
- Proficiency in cash handling and basic mathematics.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills in English, adaptable to diverse audiences.
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to follow instructions, manage time effectively, organize tasks, and demonstrate attention to detail.
- Conflict resolution skills and ability to train and lead others.
Physical and Work Environment
- Regular bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent standing, walking, and reaching within a theater setting.
- Exposure to moderate to high noise levels.
- Requirement to stand for extended periods.
