About the role
In this store-based pharmacy position, you’ll play an important part in the healthcare team by supporting the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to deliver pharmacy and healthcare services safely and efficiently.
You’ll work closely with patients in the healthcare area of the store, building trust and rapport by understanding their concerns and responding to their needs. The role includes greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, helping with the safe supply of medicines, and offering practical healthcare guidance so people can make informed decisions about their wellbeing.
This opportunity is strictly based in a UK store. Remote working is not available. Applications from outside the UK will only move forward if the candidate can provide relevant UK qualifications and proof of the legal right to work in the UK.
Pay
The hourly pay for this position is £13.92, with rates of up to £16.64 in selected London locations.
Key responsibilities
Your day-to-day work will focus on supporting safe dispensing and helping pharmacy services run smoothly.
- Prepare and dispense prescriptions while following safe supply processes, including ordering medicines, labelling, endorsing, and handing over prescriptions.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare colleagues to help deliver pharmacy services effectively.
- Offer medicine-related guidance to patients and refer more complex questions to the pharmacist when needed.
- Follow standard operating procedures to ensure prescriptions are dispensed safely and legally.
- Stay current with new in-store innovations and follow operational procedures accurately.
- Help patients manage repeat prescriptions and medicines in a way that supports adherence and reduces waste.
As store technology evolves, you’ll also have the chance to work with newer systems that improve dispensing processes, strengthen patient safety, and create more time for patient care.
Training and development
You’ll receive ongoing updates and training to build your healthcare knowledge, along with development pathways that may lead to Pharmacy Technician training or progression into the store leadership team.
