Database Developer

About the Role

Bridgenext is hiring an experienced Database Developer to strengthen its data engineering and application support efforts. The role focuses on improving database performance, supporting modern development workflows, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable technical solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Work on SQL query tuning, indexing strategies, execution plan analysis, join optimization, and broader database performance improvements.
• Take part in source control activities using GitHub, including branch-based development, peer review, commit resolution, and conflict handling.
• Support and mentor application developers on sound database design and usage practices.
• Contribute to GitHub-based CI/CD workflows.
• Collaborate effectively with teammates while maintaining clear written and verbal communication.

What We’re Looking For

• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in SQL optimization, database troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Exposure to GitHub workflows and code management practices.
• Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation abilities.
• Preferred exposure to microservices, Kafka, and NoSQL databases.
• Preferred experience with Microsoft Azure services such as Azure SQL Database and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform is an added advantage.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate well with others, and stay composed in challenging situations.
