Job description
Position Overview
We are looking for a committed and precise APO Clerk to support the Postmaster and help maintain the efficient functioning of the Army Post Office. This position involves managing mail sorting and distribution, handling outgoing correspondence, and adhering to postal regulations rigorously.
Core Responsibilities
- Organize and distribute both personal and official mail accurately.
- Inspect outgoing mail to confirm correct postage, addresses, and endorsements.
- Collect and process mail from drop boxes regularly.
- Bundle, label, and route sorted mail appropriately.
- Maintain timely records and ensure prompt dispatch of all mail.
- Redirect and forward mail as required to personnel.
- Act as the APO Finance Clerk by managing postage inventory and stock.
- Apply postal rules for mail destined for the US and international locations.
- Provide clerical support during all APO working hours.
- Comply fully with OASIS policies, directives, and reporting standards.
- Carry out other tasks assigned by the Postmaster or Support Services Manager.

- Manage inventory levels and oversee cash flow processes.
- Strive to deliver excellent customer service and satisfaction.
- Handle customer requests according to established process regulations.
Technical Skills
- Competent in using Microsoft Office tools, mainly Excel and Word.
- Skilled in front desk customer service operations.

Qualifications
- Essential: Knowledge of cash handling procedures.
- Desirable: Experience with SAP and an Associate or higher degree in Management.
Licenses and Clearances
- Must hold a valid Driver’s License.
- Must obtain and maintain the relevant security clearance suitable for the role, including a US Secret or Australian equivalent clearance.
Experience and Physical Requirements
- Demonstrated background in postal services, logistics, or related sectors.
- Physically able to lift up to 70lbs (32kg) and stand for up to 4 hours.
