Role Overview & Primary Responsibilities

• Guide scrum teams in implementing Agile frameworks and Scrum methodologies effectively.
• Collaborate with product owners and development teams to ensure client satisfaction.
• Facilitate team self-organization and remove obstacles hindering progress.
• Address conflicts and troubleshooting issues within the scrum team promptly.
• Drive teams toward advanced Scrum proficiency and maturity levels.
• Conduct agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint retrospectives, and provide updates to Release Train Engineers and leadership, highlighting progress and potential risks.
• Identify improvement opportunities in processes by partnering with other Scrum Masters and Product Owners.
• Assist in recognizing dependencies and ensuring follow-up on action plans.
• Mentor fellow Scrum Masters and encourage cross-team collaboration.

Experience and Knowledge Required

• At least seven years of relevant industry experience.
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies like Scrum and frameworks such as SAFe.
• Demonstrated embodiment and promotion of Agile values and principles.
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching capabilities.
• Familiarity with agile concepts including Scrum, Kanban, and conventional software development lifecycle models along with traditional project management principles.
• Skilled in Scrum techniques: backlog refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity tracking, retrospectives, and more.
• Experience in planning and problem-solving activities alongside product and delivery teams.
• Ability to clearly explain the rationale for Agile practices, including when certain tools or processes may or may not be suitable.
• Proficient in Agile project management software such as Jira, Confluence, and Mural.
• Eligibility for and ability to maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
• Residency in the United States for at least three out of the past five years.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in healthcare IT and familiarity with compliance requirements like HIPAA.
• Experience or knowledge with CMS programs, processes, standards, and WebSphere application server.

Educational Background and Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Possession of Agile certifications such as SAFe Scrum Master or Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
