Role summary
The Process Designer II supports the process design effort under the guidance of a senior designer or discipline lead, working on assignments of basic to intermediate complexity under the direction of the lead Process Engineer. The role involves close coordination with architects, engineers, designers, and other internal and external contributors to produce a design that is coordinated, buildable, and complete.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to process design work across all project phases, including feasibility, concept development, detailed design, construction documents, and construction administration.
- Apply knowledge of relevant building codes, industry standards, regulatory guidance for hygienic piping, and CRB quality procedures.
- Coordinate with architectural, engineering, and construction teams to complete assigned work accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with both internal and external project partners to ensure the overall design is properly coordinated and constructible.
- Prepare red-to-black markups of P&IDs.
- Annotate process piping plans.
- Update P&IDs based on model coordination.
- Revise the model using review feedback.
- Route process and process utility piping.
- Support selection of process valves.
- Develop general arrangement plans for equipment.
- Integrate vendor equipment models into Revit.
Qualifications
- An associate degree or technical trade school certification in a relevant field is required.
- 3 to 7 years of relevant experience is required, including field experience in either a design or construction setting.
Preferred technical skills
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Revit is preferred.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD MEP is preferred.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD 3D is preferred.
- Working knowledge of MicroStation is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Inventor is preferred.
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks is preferred.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills are preferred.
- Experience modeling process and process utility hygienic piping systems is preferred.
- Ability to work with clients and external partners is preferred.
- Willingness to travel for construction or client site visits is preferred.
