Role Overview
The Planning Manager will own the creation, coordination, and control of integrated project schedules across the full project lifecycle. This includes cost- and resource-loaded planning, schedule forecasting, progress measurement, and performance analysis using Primavera P6 and Earned Value Management (EVM). The role is central to providing reliable insight into schedule, cost, and resource performance so that project teams can take timely corrective action and deliver successfully.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and update cost- and resource-loaded project schedules in Primavera P6, ensuring they reflect the approved scope and budget.
- Set up work breakdown structures, define activity logic, and maintain baseline schedules for every project stage.
- Track schedule health by monitoring the critical path, float, and overall progress.
- Apply Earned Value Management methods and maintain metrics such as PV, EV, AC, SPI, and CPI.
- Review time and cost variances, then prepare forecasts and recommend corrective measures.
- Produce planning and performance outputs such as S-curves, dashboards, and look-ahead schedules.
- Plan and monitor resource loading and histograms to support efficient manpower use and productivity.
- Examine contractor schedules and confirm they align with project requirements and delivery timelines.
- Evaluate the impact of risks, delays, and changes, including what-if and recovery scenarios.
- Maintain compliance with project controls procedures, reporting standards, and governance requirements while supporting continuous improvement.
Experience and Qualifications
- 8 to 12 years of experience in project planning and scheduling.
- Hands-on background in large-scale construction, infrastructure, or data center projects.
- Strong command of Primavera P6, especially for cost- and resource-loaded schedules.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
- Primavera P6 certification is preferred.
- PMP certification or an equivalent credential is considered an advantage.
