About the Role

We are seeking a passionate Pastry Commis Chef to join the award-winning culinary team at The Tower Hotel in Waterford. This position offers a valuable opportunity for individuals eager to hone their pastry and dessert-making skills within a bustling hotel kitchen environment.

Candidate Profile

  • Enthusiastic and well-organised with a strong passion for pastry arts.
  • Detail-oriented with a keen interest in learning and growing under an experienced kitchen team.
  • Positive team player with flexibility for midweek, weekend, and evening shifts.

Experience and Duties

  • Possession of a recognised culinary or pastry qualification is desirable.
  • Support the preparation and presentation of desserts, breads, pastries, and other related items to meet hotel standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the Pastry Chef and broader kitchen staff to ensure excellent food service delivery.
  • Adhere strictly to recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines.
  • Maintain exemplary hygiene, cleanliness, and organisation in the pastry section.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of HACCP and food safety protocols consistently.
  • Ensure proper storage, labelling, and rotation of ingredients and products.
  • Assist with stock management and actively work to reduce food waste.
  • Demonstrate meticulous attention to presentation and product quality.
  • Show enthusiasm for developing new pastry techniques and skills.
  • Maintain high standards and consistency in food quality.
  • Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills to thrive within the kitchen team.
