Role Description

We are looking for an adept NOC/Data Center Operations Engineer to oversee and ensure the smooth functioning of physical infrastructure and distributed edge data centers. This position involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining critical systems including power, cooling, networking, and facility components with a focus on reliability and rapid incident resolution.

Key Duties

• Oversee critical infrastructure via PLC, BMS, and DCIM systems like Distech, Radix IoT/Mango, Schneider Electric, and Siemens.
• Handle alerts related to power, cooling, network, and environmental conditions, providing Tier 2 support and escalating issues appropriately.
• Manage incident lifecycles from identification to resolution, including communications and documentation.
• Conduct routine health checks and coordinate maintenance of UPS systems, PDUs, cooling units, backup generators, and environmental monitors.
• Interpret technical schematics and documentation to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical system issues.
• Implement and refine operational procedures for edge and modular data centers, ensuring high availability and resilience.
• Utilize tools such as Grafana, Zoho Desk, Zenduty, ServiceNow, Jira, and SolarWinds for monitoring, ticketing, and incident management.
• Collaborate with various teams including Facilities, Infrastructure Engineering, Networking, IT, and Security for operational excellence.
• Participate in on-call shifts to support 24x7 infrastructure operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in NOC, data center, or critical infrastructure operations.
• Practical knowledge of PLC, BMS, DCIM platforms and data center power and cooling infrastructure.
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems such as UPS, PDU, CRAH/CRAC units, and generators.
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals and critical infrastructure monitoring tools.
• Proficiency in incident management, escalation procedures, and change management.
• Ability to read electrical and network schematics and other technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
• Comfortable working in shift-based and on-call environments, including nights and weekends.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in modular, containerized, micro, or distributed edge data centers.
• Knowledge of environmental sensors, IoT monitoring, and telemetry systems.
• Experience with Linux and Windows server environments.
• Basic scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or equivalents.
• Familiarity with platforms like Grafana, ServiceNow, Jira, SolarWinds, Zenduty, and Zoho Desk.
• Understanding of compliance, audit evidence gathering, and security practices.
• Certifications such as CDCP, CDCTP, CompTIA Server+, or CCNA are beneficial.
