Role Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems reported via Helpdesk tickets or directly by students, instructors, and staff to ensure uninterrupted IT services.
- Collaborate closely with the IT Helpdesk Specialist to understand and respond effectively to end-user requests and issues.
- Consult with users to identify and address hardware, software, or system-related problems.
- Manage issue resolution prioritizing urgency, guided by the IT Support Supervisor's instructions.
- Assist in software installations, upgrades, system configurations, and implementing file backup processes when required.
- Recognize recurring IT problems and contribute to ongoing service improvements.
- Apply timely updates and patches to computer applications to maintain service continuity.
- Aid in the design, development, and deployment of new systems and technologies tailored to meet the needs across various UDST departments.
- Maintain and update existing IT systems to support academic and administrative functions effectively.
- Address technology project requirements to facilitate successful project completion.
- Help prepare cost-benefit analysis reports regarding technology upgrades; ensure correct prioritization of equipment and software acquisitions.
- Support the establishment and enhancement of standardized quality control processes for technology troubleshooting to enable swift resolution of issues within classrooms, labs, and offices.
- Stay informed about the latest technology trends to recommend and adopt best practices at UDST.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a closely related discipline is mandatory.
- At least 5 years of practical experience in IT or similar roles.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
- Arabic fluency, written and spoken, is preferred but not required.
