Job description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Manager to join our team at IHG Hotels & Resorts, located in Pernem, Goa. This role involves partnering closely with senior management to shape and execute HR strategies that support the hotel's operational goals, fostering a culture of excellence and inclusivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the General Manager and department heads on all employee-related issues;
  • Develop and apply HR initiatives aligned with business objectives to create a positive workplace;
  • Manage recruitment and manpower planning to ensure staffing needs are met timely and effectively;
  • Oversee onboarding processes, ensuring new hires are well oriented with policies and culture;
  • Design and implement employee engagement activities, fostering motivation and inclusiveness;
  • Handle employee relations, addressing concerns professionally and confidentially;
  • Identify training needs and coordinate development programs supporting staff growth;
  • Manage performance appraisal processes, coaching managers and facilitating feedback;
  • Coordinate payroll along with administrative tasks while ensuring compliance and confidentiality;
  • Ensure the organization's adherence to all relevant labor laws, regulations, and statutory requirements;
  • Prepare regular HR analytics and reports, offering insights to leadership;
  • Promote employee welfare, wellbeing, and maintain a supportive work environment;
  • Advance diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives throughout employment practices;
  • Conduct HR audits and manage risk to uphold compliance and operational standards;
  • Specifically for the new Holiday Inn Express Goa Morjim opening, develop manpower plans, recruit the opening team, establish HR policies, coordinate inductions, and ensure compliance for the launch;
  • Monitor key performance indicators including manpower productivity, recruitment efficiency, employee retention, engagement scores, training completion, payroll accuracy, statutory compliance, and employee wellbeing.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hotel Management, or related field;
  • Postgraduate qualifications such as MBA in HR are advantageous;
  • A minimum of 4 to 6 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in hospitality, including supervisory roles;
  • Experience within branded hotel environments and pre-opening projects is highly desirable;
  • Proficient English communication skills; knowledge of Hindi and local languages is beneficial;
  • Strong skills in people leadership, business partnership, employee relations, recruitment, coaching, problem-solving, organizational planning, confidentiality, and labor law compliance;
  • Adept at working effectively in dynamic, fast-paced hotel settings.
