Full Time Floor Technician

About the Role

Red Coats, Inc., a leading cleaning services company, is seeking a dedicated Floor Technician for the Richmond, VA area to join their team full time. This position involves maintaining and restoring various commercial floor surfaces through specialized cleaning methods and equipment operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean, maintain, and restore different types of flooring including vinyl, carpet, and natural stone in commercial settings.
• Perform floor preparation tasks such as stripping, waxing, buffing, and recoating to keep floors in excellent condition.
• Operate specialized cleaning equipment including high and low speed scrubbers, automatic scrubbers, carpet extractors, and side-by-side scrubbers.
• Use appropriate cleaning chemicals for various surfaces while strict adherence to safety procedures is expected.
• Conduct carpet cleaning techniques like shampooing and extraction.
• Report maintenance issues as detected during cleaning operations.
• Assist with other cleaning duties as needed to support team efforts.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of hands-on floor technician experience, specifically in stripping, scrubbing, waxing, and buffing floors.
• Prior experience using floor maintenance equipment such as pressure washers and automatic scrubbers.
• Familiarity with different floor types and the chemicals suitable for their care.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and report issues effectively.
• Must be able to read English.
• Eligible and authorized to work in the United States.
• Must pass background and driver’s license screening.
• At least 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation is required.
