Role Overview
The Senior Director of FP&A for Development acts as the cornerstone of Qiddiya's Financial Planning & Analysis team, specifically managing the financial aspects of development projects. The role encompasses overseeing project budgets, schedules, and risk controls, interpreting data from various financial systems, integrating advanced technologies such as automation and AI/ML, and upholding financial governance standards. This position delivers comprehensive, accurate, and actionable insights to senior leaders through management reports, board presentations, and detailed action plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial oversight of capital development projects, ensuring they adhere to approved budget, timelines, and scope.
- Create and manage comprehensive management packs, Board of Directors presentations, and executive summaries.
- Convert complex financial information into clear, organized, and visually engaging presentations for senior management.
- Manage and monitor contingency fund utilization and releases; review requests related to provisional sums.
- Assess and validate contractor claims, unapproved variations, and extensions of time or completion.
- Ensure integration and reconciliation between project management and accounting systems, resolving discrepancies monthly.
- Analyze project schedule alterations using Primavera P6 and identify associated risks and opportunities to include in financial forecasting.
- Develop and maintain detailed data models and scenarios to support future planning, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.
- Standardize and improve reporting tools such as KPIs, action trackers, and executive logbooks within the development sector.
- Work closely with FP&A teams, accounting, treasury, and other finance units to maintain data accuracy and process cohesion.
- Lead and mentor the FP&A team, fostering precision, consulting rigor, and continuous enhancement.
- Initiate continuous improvement processes focusing on automation of reporting, consolidation efficiencies, and FP&A process optimization for the Development department.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business Management required; Master's degree is an added advantage.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or MBA are mandatory.
- Possess a minimum of 15 years of total professional experience, with progressive roles within finance.
- At least 5 years of specialized experience in Financial Planning and Analysis.
- More than 5 years in senior leadership roles involving stakeholder management, executive and board engagement, management reporting, financial consolidation, performance metrics, finance transformation initiatives, and automation expertise.
- Background in master development projects, construction, infrastructure, real estate, or similar industries is essential. Alternatively, candidates with over 10 years in large multinational companies (revenue or expenditures exceeding USD 2 billion) with a track record of high performance are acceptable.
- Experience working in the regional market is highly preferred.
- Experience with Big 4 firms or leading consultancy organizations is strongly favored.
