Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a well-organized and analytical Demand Planning Assistant to aid in demand forecasting, inventory coordination, and supply chain support. This role involves preparing and maintaining demand forecasts, analyzing sales and stock data, tracking demand trends, and assisting planning activities to align product availability with business needs.
Key Duties
- Gather and validate historical sales data.
- Maintain forecasting documents and planning software.
- Generate reports and dashboards related to demand planning.
- Monitor the accuracy of forecasts.
- Detect changes in demand or potential supply issues.
- Support and participate in regular planning meetings.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, procurement, supply chain, warehouse, and finance teams to ensure data accuracy.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma or bachelor's in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar fields.
- Basic grasp of demand planning, forecasting, inventory control, and supply chain operations.
- Strong numerical and analytical capabilities to interpret sales, inventory, and demand data.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet applications, including formulas, data analysis, and reporting.
- Experience with ERP, inventory management, demand planning, or business intelligence platforms is advantageous.
- Meticulous attention to detail to spot data discrepancies, trends, and planning challenges.
- Ability to organize extensive information and keep precise planning records.
- Good understanding of forecasting principles, sales trends, seasonality, inventory management, and supply-demand balance.
- Excellent communication skills for effective cross-department collaboration.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving aptitude with a proactive stance on planning risks.
- Capability to juggle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced setting.
- Open to learning new tools, processes, and analysis techniques related to planning.
