About the Role
Radoratory Technologies Private Limited is seeking a CNC Workshop Supervisor to manage operations within the CNC machine shop department. This individual will ensure production targets are consistently met at high quality and efficiency levels while implementing ongoing improvements through Kaizen methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize, plan, and oversee daily CNC machining tasks to fulfill production goals.
- Track machine performance metrics including utilization and downtime, and rectify any issues promptly.
- Maintain strict compliance with quality standards, operational procedures, and safety regulations.
- Mentor and train operators on CNC programming, tooling choices, and operation best practices.
- Validate and approve setup documentation such as setup sheets and work instructions.
- Work alongside maintenance teams to schedule preventive maintenance and address machine breakdowns.
- Drive Kaizen initiatives to remove inefficiencies, increase productivity, and enhance workplace safety.
- Identify cost-saving measures, reduce cycle times, and support Lean and TPM procedures like 5S.
- Foster an environment encouraging operators to contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
- Document and share Kaizen outcomes and performance metrics with leadership.
- Lead and coordinate a team comprising CNC operators, setters, and technicians; assign tasks and monitor progress.
- Develop and implement workforce skill matrices and training programs to uplift operator competency.
- Collaborate closely with Quality, Maintenance, and Production Planning departments to ensure seamless operations.
Required Skills and Experience
- Between 3 to 5 years of experience in CNC machining, including 2 to 3 years in a supervisory position.
- Proficient in CNC programming, preferably with Fanuc control systems.
- Well-versed in tooling, fixtures, cutting parameters, and machine functions.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Capacity to cultivate discipline, teamwork, and a culture of continuous improvement on the shop floor.
Performance Metrics
- Maximizing CNC machine utilization and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Meeting or exceeding production plans and targets.
- Minimizing quality rejections and rework percentages.
- Implementing impactful Kaizen ideas and achieving cost savings.
- Upholding high standards in 6S and TPM audits and improving team skills.
Educational Qualification
Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) with at least 8 years’ relevant experience.
