J D Wetherspoon is hiring a Cleaner for The Sheaf Island pub in Sheffield. This is a hands-on cleaning role focused on keeping every part of the pub spotless so customers enjoy a consistently high standard of cleanliness and comfort.
Pay and key details
The hourly pay for this position is £12.91. The closing date for applications is 08-07-2026. This role offers 8 hours per week, with shifts listed across all seven days from 6:00 to 8:00.

What the role involves
- Keeping all pub areas clean to a high standard, including customer spaces, toilets, the bar, kitchen, staff areas and outdoor sections.
- Carrying out daily, weekly and monthly cleaning tasks according to standard procedures.
- Using cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and correctly.
- Checking stock levels of cleaning materials and informing the manager when supplies need replenishing.
- Escalating maintenance concerns and pest-related issues to the manager on duty.
- Greeting customers politely and offering courteous interactions such as saying hello, thank you and goodbye.
- Taking part in induction, job-specific and refresher training, while also helping improve processes over time.
Training and growth
The business supports internal development through structured on-the-job learning, apprenticeships, management academies and cross-training in areas such as the bar, kitchen and hotel. There are also routes to move into team leader, shift leader and other senior roles.
