What the role involves

You will be responsible for keeping the pub spotless across all customer-facing and back-of-house spaces. The aim is to maintain consistently high cleanliness standards so guests have a better overall experience.

Shifts can vary because the pub trades from early morning until late at night. Working patterns may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and late finishes.

Candidate profile

The employer is looking for someone with a positive attitude, energy, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn. Previous experience is not required. A calm approach under pressure, reliability, friendliness, and comfort working as part of a team are important.

Key duties

• Keep customer areas, toilets, the bar, the kitchen, staff spaces, and outdoor areas clean and tidy.
• Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning routines in line with standard operating procedures.
• Use cleaning products and equipment safely and correctly.
• Track cleaning stock and let the manager know when supplies need replenishing.
• Escalate maintenance concerns and pest-related issues to the manager on duty.
• Interact courteously with guests by greeting them and saying thank you and goodbye.
• Take part in induction training, job-specific training, refresher training, and ongoing improvement efforts.
