About the Role

As a Cashier at The Home Depot in West Springfield, MA, you will serve as an essential link in delivering excellent customer service through fast, friendly, accurate, and secure transactions. Your responsibilities will include processing Checkout and Return operations as well as overseeing the Self-Checkout area to ensure smooth customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Efficiently process customer purchases and returns, maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety.
• Oversee the Self-Checkout stations, ensuring they are operating correctly and supporting customers as needed.
• Develop product and project knowledge to assist customers with inquiries and identify sales opportunities.
• Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures to minimize shrinkage.
• If promoted to Head Cashier, manage and position Cashiers, expedite price checks, approve Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across various departments including mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
• Handle first-level customer issue escalations professionally.
• Support the supervision, training, and coaching of Front End Associates and new Cashiers, leveraging all available training resources.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Cashier.
