Role Overview

This full-time position based in Bootle requires the Optometrist to perform detailed eye examinations including vision tests, eye health assessments, and contact lens fittings in line with current clinical standards. The role involves analyzing test outcomes, diagnosing and managing common eye conditions, and offering patients clear and compassionate guidance tailored to their needs. Collaboration with retail and clinical team members is essential to ensure a seamless patient experience, precise prescriptions, and outstanding service.

Additional duties include maintaining accurate patient records, assisting with pre-registration trainees, participating in clinical audits, and supporting continual improvements in store performance and patient care outcomes.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Possession of an accredited optometry degree and full or eligible registration with the appropriate professional or licensing board.
  • Proven clinical expertise in conducting eye tests, fitting contact lenses, and identifying and managing ocular conditions.
  • Strong communication abilities to articulate clinical details clearly and help patients make educated decisions.
  • Dedication to patient-centered care emphasizing accessibility, respect, confidentiality, and superior customer service standards.
  • Team-oriented mindset with capacity to work well alongside multidisciplinary colleagues and nurture an inclusive workplace environment.
  • Meticulous approach to record keeping with proficiency in digital clinical documentation systems.
  • Enthusiasm for ongoing professional growth, training, and skill enhancement.
  • Experience in community or retail optometry is advantageous but not mandatory; new graduates and seasoned professionals are welcome to apply.
